SK Godelius was honoured to participate in the inaugural AROSE Mining & Space Conference, held in conjunction with the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) 2024 at the ICC Sydney. This landmark event brought together leaders from the mining and space sectors to explore collaborative opportunities and technological advancements.
Representing SK Godelius, Aaron Baensch, Executive Director – APAC, contributed to discussions on the convergence of mining and space technologies. He shared insights on how innovations in robotics and automation, developed for the mining industry, are increasingly applicable to space exploration and operations.
Curated by Michelle Keegan, Director of Resources & Space at AROSE, with support from Sherene Asnasyous and the IMARC team, the conference emphasized the theme: “Where space exploration meets mining innovation.” The agenda highlighted the potential for cross-industry knowledge transfer and collaboration to drive advancements in both sectors.
Key topics included the application of space technologies in current mining operations, the role of mining in supporting space missions, and strategies for fostering innovation through joint efforts. The conference featured esteemed speakers from organizations such as NASA, DARPA, and the Australian Space Agency, underscoring the global significance of these discussions.
SK Godelius is proud to be at the forefront of this interdisciplinary dialogue, contributing to the development of technologies that serve both terrestrial and extraterrestrial applications. We extend our gratitude to AROSE, IMARC, and all participants for facilitating this impactful event.
