On July 3, SK Godelius participated in TECNIMIN 2026 – Technical Symposium on Mining and Innovation, held in Lima, Peru.

During the event, Bora Hysi, Senior Consultant, and Diego Fuentes Ossandón, Mechanical Engineer, delivered the presentation “Robotic Inspection and Monitoring of Conveyor Belts,” showcasing how the integration of robotics, advanced sensing technologies, and artificial intelligence is transforming the inspection of critical mining assets.

The presentation introduced SK Godelius’ autonomous inspection system, developed to overcome the limitations of traditional conveyor belt inspection methods, including partial asset coverage and the need for personnel to work in hazardous environments. By combining autonomous robotics with optical, thermal, acoustic, and LiDAR sensors, the solution performs inspections while assets remain in operation, enabling the early detection of visual, thermal, and mechanical anomalies.

The team also demonstrated how AI-powered data processing and automated reporting help maintenance and reliability teams identify emerging issues sooner, supporting predictive maintenance strategies, improving worker safety, standardizing inspection processes, and reducing the risk of unexpected equipment failures.

TECNIMIN 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to share SK Godelius’ expertise with mining professionals in Peru, exchange knowledge on the latest technological advances, and discuss how intelligent robotic inspection systems are helping mining operations become safer, more reliable, and more efficient.
