The Paranal Astronomical Observatory, located in northern Chile, is home to the Very Large Telescope (VLT), one of the most powerful optical telescope systems ever built.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"380\" data-end=\"563\">The VLT plays a critical role in advancing our understanding of the universe, requiring engineering systems that operate with extreme levels of precision, continuity, and reliability.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"565\" data-end=\"582\"><strong data-start=\"565\" data-end=\"582\">The Challenge<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"584\" data-end=\"790\">At the core of each VLT unit is the azimuth cable wrap system, responsible for continuously managing the supply of power, data, optical fibres, and cooling systems as the telescope rotates during operation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"792\" data-end=\"871\">This system must meet strict mechanical and operational requirements, ensuring:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"873\" data-end=\"1047\">Continuous rotation without
